Imani Cenac
Resiliency Organizer
From a young age, Imani Cenac took interest in the differences in food, green space, and healthcare access as they relate to zip codes. In Spring of 2022, Imani earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health with a certificate in Public Policy at Hunter College where she studied the systemic factors that contributed to her lived experiences. Her interest in the environmental impact on community well-being inspires her to advocate for safe, quality foods and clean air. In addition to her public health training, Imani has practiced verbal advocacy and academic research to strengthen her communication and data organization skills.
Imani enjoys indoor gardening and cooking meals for her loved ones. Finding a natural approach to living has encouraged her involvement in addressing health disparities that can be mitigated through self-sustainability. Her interests equip her with tools to shape her community through education, advocacy, and public policy - three areas she strives to continue to improve.
Imani joined NQ as a youth organizer and quickly advanced to assistant youth leader. Now a Resiliency Organizer, Imani will work with community gardens and youth to create spaces where the community can thrive. Imani’s passion to strengthen communities will light the way to combat health inequities in New York, beginning in the South Bronx.
