We Stay/Nos Quedamos and the Environmental Justice Youth Team (EJYT), present a day-long event in honor of the global 2023 International Youth Day (IYD) celebrations recognizing how young people lead as agents of change in environmental. IYD, first observed in 2000 by the United Nations, draws attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding youth. The 2023 theme: “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World.” (#YouthLead)
The event’s cultural celebration will include young performing artists, including poets, dancers, singers, activists, as well as field games for youth and their families. Download Flyer
The day will also include a special announcement on Nos Quedamos’ recent grant allocation and recognition by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) about our environmental resilience work in the South Bronx, with NOAA Assistant Secretary Jainey K. Bavishi in attendance acknowledging the milestone as a presenter.
