International youth day
Come celebrate our annual International Youth Day with us on Saturday, August 8th from 2pm - 5pm at Yolanda Garcia Park (Melrose Avenue &, 409 E 159th St, Bronx, NY 10451). This years theme: “Go Green, Everywhere" will highlight the creativity, leadership, and vision of South Bronx youth while connecting young people and families to opportunities that support environmental justice, wellness, and economic empowerment. The event will feature youth-led cultural performances, resource connections focused on green workforce pathways and financial literacy, and interactive activities that promote healthy living through movement, wellness, and community engagement.

As Lead Resiliency Organizer in NQ’s EJ Department, I manage the activation of our three Resiliency Hubs sites, overseeing hub operations (including trainings, resources, and programming) and garden progress at NQ’s residential buildings in Melrose.

As a Housing Organizer, I maintain strong relationships with NQ residents and community members. I organize outreach in buildings to share updates, connect residents to resources, and promote programming and opportunities. This work keeps residents informed and supports community-driven developments.
MELANIE REYES

As Director of Housing and Resident Services at NQ, I connect resident needs with organizational goals. I support community stability through programs and resources while collaborating with Property Management to guide operations. My work strengthens resident well-being, supports healthy properties, and helps build a more connected Melrose community.
